Throughout his career, he was assigned to the Çevik Kuvvet Branch Directorate and underwent helicopter pilot training at the Special Operations Directorate in Gölbaşı, Ankara. He was killed during the attack on the **Special Operations Directorate in Gölbaşı** on **15 July 2016 coup attempt**. He continued his education outside the police academy alongside his twin brother, **Mehmet Oruç**, in the same school and class. After completing his police training, he began his professional career. Later, pursuing his goal of becoming a helicopter pilot, he received aviation training at the **Special Operations Directorate** in Gölbaşı, Ankara. ### **Police Career** After completing his police training, Ahmet Oruç began serving as a police officer in the Turkish Security Organization. During the early years of his career, he was assigned to the **Çevik Kuvvet Branch Directorate in Adana**. As part of this training, he was temporarily transferred from his post in Adana to Ankara. He completed his training alongside his twin brother [Mehmet Oruç](/en/detay/mehmet-oruc-d1601/llms.txt). At the time, he was in Ankara receiving helicopter pilot training alongside his twin brother and fellow police officer Mehmet Oruç. During the coup attempt, the **Special Operations Directorate in Gölbaşı** was bombed by military aircraft. As a result of the attack, **Ahmet Oruç** and his twin brother **Mehmet Oruç** were both killed in the same incident.[^2] At the time of his death, Oruç was 26 years old and his wife was pregnant. Due to the effects of the bombing, their identities could not be determined visually; they were confirmed by the serial numbers of the firearms they carried.[^4] The funeral ceremony was held in Adana. Ahmet Oruç and Mehmet Oruç were laid to rest in their hometown of **Adana**. A large number of people attended the funeral. An elementary school in the Karşıyaka district of İzmir was named **Shahid Ahmet Oruç Middle School**.
