Anfa Altınpark

Altınpark, East has been named Park of the Year among Mediterranean countries and is the largest green space in Ankara. Covering an area of 640,000 square meters, 85 percent of the park consists of green areas and lake landscaping, while the remaining 15 percent comprises buildings and plazas. Water integrates green spaces, lakes, gardens, walking paths, sports and fair events, serving as Ankara’s most comprehensive park.

History

The land on which Altınpark now stands was used as a golf club until 1977. It acquired its current form following the implementation of the winning design from a competition held in 1985. Since its operation began in 1991 by Anfa Ankara Altınpark İşletmeleri Ltd. Şti., the park has made significant contributions to the social and cultural life of the city.

Features and Facilities

In addition to being a recreational park, Altınpark hosts numerous firsts in Türkiye. The main facilities and activities within the park include:

• Science Center: Hosts educational activities.
• Fair and Congress Center: Designed to international standards, it hosts over 80 events annually. With a 7,500 square meter indoor area and a 25,000 square meter outdoor exhibition space, it is one of Ankara’s largest fair venues.
• Olympic Swimming Pool: A sports facility compliant with international standards.
• Entertainment and Leisure Areas: Offer musical and illuminated water shows, amphitheaters along the lake shore, water bicycles, rowboats, bumper boats, electric sightseeing vehicles, a mini train, go-karts, at tavlası and game parks, providing a wide variety of activities.

Operation and Management

Altınpark is operated by Anfa Ankara Altınpark İşletmeleri Ltd. Şti. The company was established on 6 May 1991 with a capital of 2 million TL, which increased to 95 million TL by 2015. At its founding, 93 percent of the capital belonged to Belko Ankara Coal Asphalt Enerji İnş. San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti., and 7 percent to Ankara People Ekmek ve Un Fabrikaları A.Ş. On 4 April 2023, Belko merged with Portaş Proje İnş. Taah. Asf. San. ve Tic. A.Ş., a company under Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, transferring its 93 percent stake to Portaş. On 14 October 2024, all shares were transferred to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. Since that date, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has been the sole owner of Altınpark.
