## Article Content

Ambassador [Erdeniz Şen](/en/detay/erdeniz-sen-9b47a/llms.txt) was a Turkish diplomat who passed away on 19 May 2025 while serving as the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Valletta.

### **Positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs**

After graduating from the Faculty of Political Science at Ankara University in 1996, he began his career the same year as a career officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye. Şen held various positions within the central apparatus of the Ministry and served as Assistant Director General for Foreign Policy Coordination with the title of Envoy. He also served at different levels within the offices of the President of the Republic of Türkiye and the [Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye](/en/detay/diplomasi-cephesi-kitap/llms.txt).

In his overseas postings, Şen held various diplomatic roles at the embassies of Türkiye in Bahrain, Rome and Washington. From 2019 to 2022 he served as the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Toronto. On 9 December 2022 he was appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Valletta (Malta) and presented his letter of credence to [President of Malta George Vella](/en/detay/malta-turkish-martyrs-cemetery/llms.txt) on 23 February 2023.

### **Academic Work**

Alongside his professional career, Şen pursued academic studies and earned a master’s degree from the Department of International Relations at Gazi University. He attended the Senior Course at the NATO College. In the final period of his life, he was continuing his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Political Science at Ankara University, his alma mater.

Şen, who passed away while in office, is remembered for the various roles he fulfilled within Turkish diplomatic service and for his institutional understanding of responsibility.
