Ford Courier

The Ford Courier is a compact model developed by Ford Motor Company and positioned in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment. First introduced in the 1970s in the United States as a small pickup truck, the Courier was modernized and relaunched in the European market in 2014 under the name Transit Courier. As of the 2024 model year, the Courier offers a practical solution for both commercial users and individuals engaged in urban transportation, featuring a refreshed design, enhanced connectivity systems and fuel-efficient engine options.

DESIGN AND STRUCTURAL FEATURES

The new-generation Courier is built on Ford’s Global B Platform. Despite its compact dimensions, the Courier offers a spacious loading capacity and features a user-friendly design with sliding side doors, a large cargo opening and an optimized interior volume. The front design highlights a wide grille consistent with Ford’s modern commercial vehicle identity, LED daytime running lights and aerodynamic details.

The vehicle is available in different body variants:

• Transit Courier: Focused on commercial use (panel van)
• Tourneo Courier: Focused on passenger transport (glass van)

ENGINE OPTIONS AND PERFORMANCE

The 2024 Ford Courier is offered with petrol, diesel and electric powertrains:

• 1.0L EcoBoost Petrol (100 hp – 6-speed manual / 7-speed automatic)
• 1.5L EcoBlue Diesel (100 hp – manual transmission)
• Fully Electric E-Courier: 136 hp, 290 Nm torque, 290 km WLTP range (45 kWh battery)

The E-Courier model can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 35 minutes using DC fast charging (100 kW). The electric variant is positioned in Europe to meet zero-emission targets.

The Courier’s cabin stands out with its user-friendly design. The commercial version features easy-to-clean flooring and cargo compartments, while the Tourneo version includes more comfort-oriented elements.

The 2024 Ford Courier is produced in collaboration with Ford Otosan at the Craiova plant in Romania. The vehicle is particularly favored in Europe by SMEs, urban delivery companies and fleet operators. The E-Courier variant plays a key role in Ford’s electric commercial vehicle strategy. Competing models include Renault Kangoo, Citroën Berlingo, Opel Combo and Fiat Doblò.
