
Hamdi Kılıç (d. 13 September 2025, Ankara) was a public official who served as Advisor to the President of Türkiye and worked in the fields of political communication and speechwriting. He was a member of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s speechwriting team since 2007 and led the four-to-five-person team responsible for preparing the President’s public addresses after 2015.
He graduated from the Faculty of Communication at Ankara University. He held managerial positions at the newspapers Yeni Düşünce, Yeni Hafta, Gündüz and Hergün and collaborated with Devlet Bahçeli and the late Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu. He taught courses on “Political Communication” at Gazi and Selçuk Universities and was originally from the Sorgun district of Yozgat.
Kılıç was originally from the Sorgun district of Yozgat. He graduated from the Faculty of Communication at Ankara University (formerly the School of Journalism and Publishing). After university, he gained experience in both journalism and political communication and later taught “Political Communication” at Gazi and Selçuk Universities.
He began his journalistic career in managerial roles at the newspapers Yeni Düşünce, Yeni Hafta, Gündüz and Hergün. He worked in speechwriting and strategic text production in politics, contributing to campaigns for Devlet Bahçeli, General Chairman of the MHP, and the late Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu, Founding General Chairman of the BBP, as well as providing text support to various politicians during different periods.

He joined Erdoğan’s speechwriting team in 2007 and, following Aydın Ünal’s election as a member of parliament, led the team responsible for preparing the President’s public addresses. During this period, he gained recognition for his coordination role in integrating inter-institutional data and information into speech texts.
Hamdi Kılıç was married to Selda Kılıç and had three children: Aybike, Cemal Oğuz and Emre Kağan. His grandchildren are Emir Hamdi and Umay. His parents’ names were Cemal and Emine Kılıç.
Hamdi Kılıç passed away in Ankara on 13 September 2025 due to prolonged health issues. His funeral prayer was held at Ahmet Hamdi Akseki Camii on the same day in the afternoon and he was buried at Gölbaşı Cemetery.
Following his death, numerous figures from the political sphere, including President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, and many others, issued condolences. The Presidency of Communication also released an official condolence message.
