Mist Mountain Plateau is located in the Eastern Black Sea Region of Türkiye, on the border section of Giresun and Trabzon provinces. It is situated approximately 40 kilometers inland from the coast of Görele district, which is part of Giresun province. The plateau is located on Mist Mountain, which is part of the Eastern Black Sea mountain range. Ali Meydan Hill, the highest point of Mist Mountain, has an altitude of 2,182 meters. The plateau's elevation is approximately 1,770 meters.
Vegetation
Mist Mountain Plateau is characterized by its snow cover, which can remain on the ground until the beginning of July. Natural flora, notable for its yellow and purple flowers, can be observed on the plateau. Relief features are prominent on the upper slopes in terms of topography and gradient. Along the plateau route, there are trails and routes suitable for nature sports.

Protection Status and Management
Mist Mountain Plateau was declared a Tourism Center by a Council of Ministers decision in 2011. The total area of the plateau is approximately 379 hectares. Mist Mountain Recreation Area, located within this area, was registered as a “Type B Recreation Area” on December 30, 2016, and spans 55 hectares. The recreation area is located in the Sandık Gölü locality of Çağlayan village, Çanakçı district, Giresun province. Protection and operational responsibility are carried out by the Görele Forest Management Directorate, a subsidiary of the Tirebolu Forest Management Directorate. Zoning planning authority has been granted to Şalpazarı Municipality, but master or implementation development plans have not yet been approved.

Settlement and Cultural Activities
Mist Mountain Plateau is a settlement area where villages and plateau settlements affiliated with Trabzon and Giresun provinces are located. Every year on specific dates, events are organized under the name of Mist Mountain Festivals, with the participation of attendees from local villages and plateau settlements.
Tourism and Recreation
Mist Mountain Plateau is a regional center for nature sports and plateau tourism. With its natural structure and protected areas, it provides an environment for various activities for visitors. Due to its location on the border of Giresun and Trabzon provinces, the plateau is also important for the tourism potential of both provinces. The area is officially defined with the status of “tourism center” and “recreation area”.
Transportation
Access to Mist Mountain is provided via an approximately 40-kilometer village road extending from Espiye district, from the coast to the inland. The travel time to the plateau via this route is approximately 1.5–2 hours.
