He has been serving as Mayor of Meram since 2019. In addition to his political career, he has held positions in public administration and the private sector.

Mustafa Kavuş was born on 4 July 1974 in the Meram district of [Konya](/en/detay/konya-province-12f4c/llms.txt). He spent his childhood and youth in Konya.

#### **Educational Background**

He began his primary education at Ali İhsan Dayıoğlugil Primary School and completed his middle and high school education at Konya Imam Hatip High School. He graduated in 1995 from the Business Department of the Faculty of Political Sciences at Ankara University. Following his undergraduate studies, he pursued a master’s degree in the Department of Management and Organization at Selçuk University.

Mustafa Kavuş entered the business world at an early age, gaining experience in management and entrepreneurship within the textile publishing and food sectors.

He began his political career with the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and held various positions:

- 2001–2003: Founding Chairman of the AK Party Provincial Youth Organization
- 2003–2005: Member of the Provincial Organization Executive Board
- 2011: Candidate for Member of Parliament

- 2004: Advisor to the Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality
- 2006: Inspector of the Inspection Board
- 2009–2018: Chairman of the Inspection Board
- 2018: Advisor to the Minister of Environment and Urbanization
