The Presidency of the National Education Academy is an institution responsible for preparing and implementing training programs for teacher preparation, administrator training, and career development of educational personnel. The Academy operates under the Ministry of National Education of Türkiye. The regulation governing the establishment and activities of the Academy was published in the Official Gazette on March 19, 2025, and entered into force.

Establishment
The Presidency of the National Education Academy was established based on Article 32 of the Teaching Profession Law No. 7528, dated October 10, 2024.
Duties and Authorities
The Academy carries out various training and development activities in the fields of teaching and educational administration. Within this framework, its duties include:
- Teacher preparation training: Organizing theoretical and practical training programs for prospective teachers.
- Administrator training programs: Providing professional development training for educational administrators and school principals.
- Career development and competency assessment: Defining career progression steps for teachers and educational administrators, setting and updating competency standards.
- Development of educational materials and content: Preparing necessary digital and printed materials for training activities.
- Scientific research and collaborations: Conducting research in the field of education and engaging in joint studies with national and international academic institutions.
- Educational collaborations with private and public institutions: Providing training support to private institutions and other public organizations when deemed appropriate.
- Establishment of training and practice centers: Setting up educational centers in necessary locations to carry out the Academy's training activities.
- Cultural and social development of teachers: Organizing events in culture, arts, and sports for teachers.
Organizational Structure
The Presidency of the National Education Academy consists of the President, the Academic Council, and service units.
Presidency and Its Duties
The President is the highest-ranking executive of the Academy and is accountable to the Minister of National Education. The duties of the President include:
- Defining the Academy’s objectives, goals, and strategies.
- Chairing the Academic Council and managing decision-making processes.
- Supervising the Academy’s activities and enhancing its effectiveness.
National Education Academy Academic Council
The Council consists of the President and ten members. Its duties include:
- Establishing educational policies and standards.
- Designing teacher preparation training programs.
- Evaluating training requests from private and public educational institutions.
- Reviewing appeals from prospective teachers who have been removed from training programs.
Service Units
The Presidency oversees nine departments and a special bureau.
- Department of Research, Monitoring, and Policy Development: Defining education policies and conducting academic research.
- Department of Professional Development: Developing training programs to ensure continuous professional development for teachers.
- Department of Preparation Training: Planning and implementing teacher preparation training programs.
- Department of Educational Administration, Supervision, and Guidance Training: Organizing training programs for school administrators and inspectors.
- Department of Professional Competencies and Quality Development: Defining and improving professional competencies of teachers and administrators.
- Department of Digital Content and Publications: Digitalizing educational content and managing publications.
- Department of Budget and Financial Services: Managing the Academy's budget planning and financial transactions.
- Department of Administrative Services: Overseeing institutional management, personnel affairs, and archiving processes.
- Department of Educational Archives and Museums: Conducting archival and museum studies related to educational history.
Training and Practice Centers
The Academy may establish training and practice centers to conduct training activities for teachers and administrators more effectively. The management and supervision of these centers are carried out by the Ministry of National Education. The administrators and trainers serving in these centers are appointed by the ministry.
Legislative Changes
With the establishment of the Academy, the "Ministry of National Education In-Service Training Centers Regulation," dated January 4, 1995, has been repealed. Thus, teacher and administrator training programs have been restructured under the new system.
