Yedi Güzel Adam is a biographical series that explores the youth and literary development of seven prominent Turkish poets and writers: Cahit Zarifoğlu, Erdem Bayazıt, Rasim Özdenören, Nuri Pakdil, Alaeddin Özdenören, Mehmet Akif İnan, and Ali Kutlay. Aired on TRT 1 in 2014, the series offers viewers a unique perspective by capturing the literary atmosphere and spirit of its era.

The series centers on events at the Kahramanmaraş High School, referred to as “Black Lise.” Through a narrative spanning from the 1950s to the 1970s and into the present, it follows Erdem Bayazıt’s journey as he revisits his high school years. The streets, bazaars, orchards, and socially structured literary environment of Kahramanmaraş are examined within the framework of the relationship between individuals and their homeland.

While portraying the friendships, literary and intellectual struggles, belief systems, resistance against injustice, and spiritual quests of these figures, the series brings to life the story of a generation shaped by literature.

Yedi Güzel Adam has been one of the pioneering Turkish series in the biographical and literary genres. It illuminates how the poetic and literary sensibilities of these figures—credited with earning Kahramanmaraş the title “Land of Poets”—were formed.
