He completed his secondary education at Bursa Anadolu Lisesi in 1977 and earned his undergraduate degree from the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences at Uludağ University in 1982. He finished his master’s studies at Istanbul University Faculty of Political Sciences in 1986 and received his PhD in political science in 1991. He became an associate professor in 1993 and a full professor in 1998. Throughout his academic career, he focused on political science, [political philosophy](/en/detay/siyaset-2/llms.txt), and the history of political thought. ### **Academic Career** Süleyman Seyfi Öğün spent a significant part of his academic career at the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Uludağ University, where he served as a faculty member for many years. He retired from Uludağ University in 2010. After retirement, he continued his academic activities. Between 2010 and 2016, he served as the head of the Department of International Relations and European Union at the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Maltepe University. Since 2020, he has been a faculty member in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, İstanbul Ticaret University. ### **Publication Activities and Public Presence** Süleyman Seyfi Öğün has published numerous books, articles, and review essays in various journals. In addition to his academic output, he has communicated his analyses of politics and society through newspaper and magazine columns.
