TEI-TF35000 is a domestically produced turbofan engine developed to provide the 35,000 lbf thrust required for the KAAN National Combat Aircraft. This engine is being developed as a result of collaboration between TEI (TUSAŞ Engine Industry) and TRMOTOR under the auspices of the Secretariet of Defence Industries. One of Türkiye's major initiatives in the field of aviation engines, the TF35000 is designed to meet the technical requirements of fifth-generation fighter jets.

TEI has made significant gains in areas such as engine component production, advanced materials technologies, testing infrastructure, and production capabilities through its work on gas turbine engine technologies. This expertise plays a fundamental role in the development of the TF35000.
The engine design will utilize superalloys resistant to high temperatures, advanced coating and cooling technologies. This will enable the engine to meet the high performance and durability requirements of KAAN. The TF35000's unique structure is designed to combine high thrust with low fuel consumption, supporting long-range missions.
The development process is not limited to the production of the engine; it also involves the creation of a broad ecosystem encompassing the design, production, and testing phases. In this way, Türkiye aims to achieve the high-tech original engine development capabilities required for fifth-generation fighter jets.
The TF35000 engine is being developed as part of Türkiye's goals to reduce its dependence on foreign defense industries and strengthen the country's position in the global aviation sector. The engine has the ability to reach supersonic speeds without using an afterburner (supercruise). This capability is defined as a performance feature previously only achievable by the USA's F-22 Raptor engine and Russia's Sukhoi engines.
