The TF6000 is the first indigenous turbofan engine designed exclusively in Türkiye and developed by TEI. The primary objective of the project is to produce a modern, efficient, and high-technology turbofan engine in the medium thrust class for use in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and light manned air platforms. The TF6000 engine is a power system developed entirely in Türkiye, utilizing national resources and domestic engineering capabilities, with all design, manufacturing, and testing processes conducted locally. During the development phase, the engine’s aerothermal performance, thermodynamic cycle parameters, and structural durability were modeled using domestic engineering infrastructure, while component and full-engine tests were carried out in indigenous facilities.

Technical Specifications
The TF6000 is a medium bypass ratio turbofan engine designed to operate at a thrust level of approximately 6,000 to 7,000 lbf (26.7–31.1 kN). In the compressor section, a multi-stage, variable stator vane design has been employed to optimize both performance and fuel efficiency. The combustion chamber is designed in a can-annular configuration to achieve high combustion efficiency and low emission levels. In the turbine section, high-temperature-resistant superalloys and thermal barrier coatings are utilized.
Design and Technology
The TF6000 features a modular architecture that facilitates ease of maintenance. Its advanced thermal management and cooling systems enhance the engine’s operational durability. Manufactured from superalloys and advanced materials, the engine is designed to deliver high performance and extended service life. Additionally, the engine core has been developed with a flexible and upgradable design philosophy, enabling it to serve as the foundation for future turboshaft or turboprop engine variants.
Testing and Development Process
Ground tests of the engine commenced in 2024, with the completion of qualification tests targeted for late 2028. As part of the TF6000 development program, studies on afterburner integration are also underway, with plans to develop a higher-thrust variant designated as the TF10000.
