Trabzon City Mosque and Complex is built in a dominant position overlooking the sea in the Ortahisar district of Trabzon, in the Pazarkapı area. The foundation of this structure, laid in 2018, is the largest mosque and complex in the Eastern Black Sea Region.

• Total Construction Area: 15,442 square meters
• Basement Area: 8,831 square meters
• Prayer Area: 6,255 square meters
• Harim Area: 2,800 square meters
• Portico Area: 1,140 square meters
• Courtyard Area: 1,200 square meters
• Mahfil Floor: 1,115 square meters
The mosque's main dome is 42 meters high and 22 meters in diameter, and it has four minarets 77 meters high. The interior space is designed to receive natural light through 24 windows. The structure, a blend of traditional Turkish-Islamic architecture and modern lines, is being built with consideration for acoustic properties.
Capacity and Social Areas
The mosque has a capacity of approximately 7,700 people at the same time. Elevators are provided for access for people with disabilities. It includes a 14-classroom religious education center, 15 workshops, a 1,000-person conference and meeting hall, a kitchen, men's/women's ablution areas, a mortuary, and an indoor parking lot, among other social areas.
Project and Opening
The project was initiated with the support of former Minister of Environment and Urbanization Erdoğan Bayraktar and is progressing with the contributions of Trabzon philanthropists. Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Genç stated that the mosque is targeted to be opened for worship during the 2025 Feast of Sacrifice.
