Türkiye Railway Academy

Türkiye Demiryolu Akademisi, established in 2020 within the Turkish State Railways (TCDD), is an education and development center aimed at enhancing human resources in the railway sector and institutionalizing sectoral knowledge. The Academy continues TCDD’s 168-year tradition of education through modern and innovative approaches, with the goal of improving the professional competencies of railway personnel.

Corporate Structure and Mission

Operating under the organizational framework of the TCDD Directorate of Education, Türkiye Demiryolu Akademisi has adopted as its mission the support of professional development for personnel working in the railway sector, the facilitation of knowledge and experience sharing within the industry, and the establishment of TCDD’s institutional memory. The Academy focuses on individual, professional, and organizational development to provide the sector with a qualified workforce.

Educational Programs and Activities

Türkiye Demiryolu Akademisi offers a variety of training programs tailored to the needs of the railway sector. These include professional courses such as train dispatcher training, TSİ (Traffic Signaling Operations) system training, escort officer training, and operation of grade-separated crossings. Training is delivered through both in-person and remote learning methods, with the aim of enhancing sectoral competencies and certifying the professional qualifications of employees.

Educational and Examination Centers

The Academy operates two railway training and examination centers authorized by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure: the Ankara Railway Training and Examination Center (TCDD 2nd Regional Directorate, Behiçbey Facilities, Yenimahalle/Ankara) and the Sivas Railway Training and Examination Center (Kadıburhanettin Neighborhood, Central/Sivas).

Vision and International Cooperation

The vision of Türkiye Demiryolu Akademisi is to integrate the longstanding culture of railway education with innovative practices to establish a respected and enduring presence on national and international platforms. To this end, it collaborates with international institutions and organizations, develops joint projects, and delivers training programs to public institutions and the private sector in accordance with international standards.
