## Article Content

Yavuz Bülent Bâkiler was born on 23 April 1936 in Sivas. His family migrated from the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan to Anatolia. He completed his primary and secondary education in Sivas, Gaziantep and Malatya. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ankara University in 1960. He passed away on 28 September 2025 at the age of 89.

### **Professional Career**

After graduation, he worked briefly at [kisa](/en/detay/kisa/llms.txt) **Yeni İstanbul Gazetesi**. From 1964 to 1968, he served as a reporter at the Central Program Office of TRT Ankara Radio, where he prepared and presented various [culture](/en/detay/kultur-2/llms.txt) programs. From 1969 to 1975, he practiced law in Sivas. During the same period, he held the position of Sivas Provincial Presidency of the Justice Party and ran for municipal mayor and parliamentary candidacy. From 1975 to 1976, he worked as a legal advisor at the Prime Ministry’s Directorate of Land and Agricultural Reform. After working at **Ankara Television** from 1976 to 1979, he served as deputy undersecretary at the **Ministry of Culture and Tourism** from 1979 to 1980. Following the 12 September 1980 coup, he was appointed to the advisory cadre and held this position until 1992. After working as a **Prime Minister’s advisor** from 1992 to 1994, he retired in 1994.

Yavuz Bülent Bâkiler passed away on 28 September 2025 at the age of 89. Istanbul Governor Davut Gül shared the poet’s poem *“Gözlerin İstanbul Oluyor Birden”* on his social media account as a tribute.
