***Yiğit Bulut,*** is a Turkish journalist, author, economic commentator, and bureaucrat. A graduate of [Galatasaray High School](/en/detay/yigit-bulut-74972/llms.txt) and Bilkent University, Bulut held advisory roles at the Prime Ministry and the Presidency following his media career.

### **Childhood and Family Life**

Yiğit Bulut was born in 1972 in the Keşan district of Edirne. His father, Mustafa Bulut, entered the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye in 1977 as a member of parliament for Edirne from the Justice Party. This political legacy laid the foundation for Yiğit Bulut’s later influential public roles.

### **Educational Background**

Yiğit Bulut completed his secondary education at Galatasaray High School in Istanbul and continued his higher education in the Banking and Finance department at Bilkent University. After earning his undergraduate degree, he pursued a master’s degree at Sorbonne University in Paris, extending his academic career internationally. Fluent in English and French, Bulut applied his academic knowledge to his work in media and public service.

### **Media Career**

Yiğit Bulut’s media career began with television commentary and column writing. He provided economic analysis on various television channels including Kanal 6, Kanal E, and CNN Türk. At CNN Türk, he served as producer and presenter of the programs “Parametre” and “Finans Analiz.” During this period, he also wrote columns for the newspapers Radikal, Vatan, Referans, and Star.

In 2009, he launched the debate program “Sansürsüz” on Habertürk TV. In 2010, he was appointed general director of broadcasting at the channel, but his tenure ended on 3 January 2012. His column in the newspaper Habertürk also ceased on the same date. Later that year, he signed an agreement with Star Media Group and was appointed general director of broadcasting at 24 TV. He ended this role in July 2013 after being appointed to a new position.

### **Public Service**

In July 2013, Yiğit Bulut was appointed Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister. On 30 August 2014, he was appointed Chief Advisor on Economic Policies at the Presidency. In 2025, a presidential decree confirmed his continued membership on the Economic Policies Council.

### **Academic Activities**

In addition to his intensive work in media and economics, Yiğit Bulut contributed to academia. He served for a period as a lecturer at Doğuş University.

### **Personal Life**

Yiğit Bulut married Şule Zeybek, daughter of former minister Namık Kemal Zeybek and a presenter at Kanal D, on 2 February 2000. The marriage ended in 2010. They had one son, Ahmet, born in 2007.

### **Death**

Yiğit Bulut died on the morning of 11 July 2025 at a private hospital in Maslak, where he was receiving treatment for cancer. He was 53 years old. Following his death, condolence messages were issued by various state institutions, beginning with the Presidency, and by political figures.
