Acid Rain
Acid rain appears like normal rain but contains harmful gases. These gases mix into the air from car exhausts, factory chimneys, and even volcanoes.
☁️ How Does It Form?
Sulfur dioxide (SO₂) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the air combine with water droplets in clouds. This combination forms acidic rain droplets, which fall to the ground as rain, snow, or fog.
🌱 Harm to Nature and Humans
Acid rain weakens the leaves and roots of trees in forests. It is also dangerous for fish living in lakes and rivers. Additionally, it damages historical monuments and buildings by eroding their stone and metal components.
🌍 How Can We Prevent It?
- Install filters on factory chimneys
- Use cars less or ride bicycles
- Choose clean energy sources such as solar and wind
We can protect the planet through small changes! 🌳💧
