Bursa Kültürpark Open-Air Theatre is an event venue located within Kültürpark in the center of Bursa. The structure consists of an open-air stage and tiered seating for spectators. It functions as a large-capacity space designed for the city’s cultural and artistic activities.
Construction History 🕰️
The Kültürpark in which the Open-Air Theatre is situated was opened to the public in 1955. The theatre structure itself was built within the park area in 1962. This stage, one of Türkiye’s Republican-era constructions, has hosted the city’s artistic events since that time.
Function and Capacity 💺
The theatre is used throughout the year for various cultural events. It serves as the main venue for concerts and theatrical performances, most notably the International Bursa Festival. The structure has a total capacity of 5000, comprising approximately 3500 seated positions and 1500 standing areas. This capacity is well suited for large-scale events.
Architectural Design 📐
The Kültürpark Open-Air Theatre follows the amphitheatre format, with a semicircular audience area arranged in stepped seating rows. The stage area is covered by a steel-framed roof to protect performances from weather conditions. The theatre building is functionally organized to include backstage areas, dressing rooms, and technical facilities.
