What is a Province?
An province is one of the major administrative divisions of a country. Türkiye has a total of 81 provinces. Each province has its own governor, police chief, and various institutions. Provinces are large administrative units established to facilitate the governance of our country.
Large cities are typically located at the center of provinces. These cities offer many facilities such as schools, hospitals, universities, sports halls, theaters, and shopping centers. Each province may have its own license plate and unique traditions.

Living in a province means going to the library, viewing historical artifacts in museums, watching plays at the theater, and exploring natural parks. Additionally, many science centers, zoos, and aquariums that are not found in districts are available only in provincial centers.
