These springs spread across a vast and beautiful area through which the Murat River flows. Have you ever seen natural water bubbling up from the ground, releasing plumes of steam? Let us explore this natural wonder together.
Where Are the Springs and How Do They Appear?
Diyadin hot springs are located approximately five to seven kilometres from the district centre. This region consists of several sources known by different names such as Yılanlı, Davut, Tunca and Köprü. Over time, the calcareous waters around the springs have hardened into white travertines and intriguing formations resembling fairy chimneys. Their appearance evokes the famous Pamukkale in Denizli.

Each Spring Has Its Own Story
Each spring in the region has its own unique characteristic. For instance, Yılanlı Çermiği derives its name from the legend that a snake was once seen in its waters in ancient times. Davut Çermiği is named after the nearby village, and its mud is believed to relieve pain. The hottest waters are found in Köprü Çermiği, where temperatures can sometimes reach 70 to 80 degrees Celsius.
