Erikli Double Waterfall
Erikli Çifte Şelale is a natural waterfall located within the boundaries of Teşvikiye Village, in the Çınarcık district of Yalova Province. This waterfall lies along the Erikli Yaylası route, approximately 29 kilometers from the city center. The majority of the path leading to the waterfall is accessible by vehicle, while the final section is completed via marked footpaths through the forest. These trails are well-signposted and suitable for nature walking.
Structure of the Waterfall
As its name suggests, Erikli Çifte Şelale consists of two tiers. In the upper section, water cascades down a steep rocky cliff. It then spreads over a broader area in the lower section, forming a second waterfall. This structure allows the water to flow both vertically and horizontally. The continuous flow of water creates a moist environment around the waterfall, which supports the growth of vegetation.

Natural Environment and Biodiversity
The area surrounding the waterfall is covered by a forest of hornbeam, oak, chestnut, and linden trees. Thanks to these trees, the region remains green throughout the year and offers a cool environment during summer months. Mosses, lichens, and small aquatic organisms are commonly found near the water. The sounds of birds, flowing water, and rustling leaves create a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere.
Spending Time in Nature
Erikli Çifte Şelale is a popular destination for nature lovers, especially on weekends. Visitors walk along the trails, take photographs, set up camps, or organize day trips. For the safety of visitors and the protection of nature, designated walking paths, viewing points, and rest areas have been established. Warning signs remind visitors not to light fires in camping areas.

Visual Beauty
Both tiers of the waterfall are clearly visible. The white foam created by the water cascading from above, combined with the small pools formed in the lower section, give the waterfall a dynamic appearance. The landscape formed by natural rocks, vegetation, and water makes the site particularly appealing to photographers. Thanks to its shaded structure, it is also favored by visitors seeking relief from the heat during summer months.
Conservation and Awareness
Erikli Çifte Şelale is preserved as a natural entity. Construction and development are prohibited in the region. Only carefully designed footpaths, directional signs, and informational panels have been installed to ensure no harm to the natural environment. These measures aim to protect the waterfall’s natural structure while encouraging visitors to develop greater environmental awareness.
