Football Sport
Football is one of the most played and watched sports in the world. Two teams compete by controlling the ball with their feet and attempting to score goals in the opposing team’s goal. Each team has 11 players and the team that scores the most goals wins. It can be played both on open fields and in indoor arenas. The referee enforces the rules and manages the match.
📜 History Worldwide
The origins of football date back to ancient times. In China during the 2nd century BCE a game played with the feet was already in existence. Modern football, however, became widespread in 19th century England after its rules were formalized. FIFA was established in 1904 and the first World Cup was held in 1930. Today, hundreds of millions of people play or watch football.

🎯 How Is It Played?
In a football match each team consists of 11 players. The objective is to score goals by getting the ball into the opponent’s goal. Only the goalkeeper is allowed to use their hands. A match consists of two halves of 45 minutes each. Rules such as fouls offside and penalties apply. Passing shooting and team play are essential.
🟨 Yellow and Red Cards
In football players who break the rules are shown cards by the referee. A yellow card serves as a warning. If a player receives a second yellow card in the same match they are shown a red card and sent off. A red card can also be given directly. For example players who commit a severe foul intentionally harm an opponent or show disrespect to the referee may receive a red card.
🟥 A player shown a red card cannot continue playing and their team must finish the match with one fewer player. Therefore it is very important for players to follow the rules and behave sportsmanlike.
