Green Crescent Week
Greenay Week is a very special week celebrated annually between March 1 and 7, reminding us how precious our health is. During this week, we learn the importance of avoiding harmful habits that damage our bodies and embracing a healthy lifestyle.
What is Greenay?
Greenay is one of Türkiye’s oldest and most important charitable organizations, established nearly 100 years ago on March 5, 1920. Its symbol, the Green Crescent, represents health and peace. Greenay helps people say “no” to harmful habits such as smoking, alcohol, and technology addiction.
Why Do We Celebrate It?
- For Health: To understand which habits we must avoid to protect our bodies and stay energetic.
- For Independence: To recognize the importance of living freely and making our own decisions without being dependent on anything.
- To Raise Awareness: To set an example for our friends by spreading messages about healthy living in our schools and on the streets.
