How Does Snow Form?
Snow Is Born in the Clouds
When we look at the sky, we see that each cloud is made up of tiny water droplets. When the air becomes very cold, these tiny water droplets begin to turn into ice crystals.

Ice crystals stick together and grow. Over time, they come together to form light snowflakes.
If the air is very cold and the clouds become heavy enough, snowflakes begin to drift and fall from the sky. These light flakes, like cotton, reach the ground due to the wind.

Every snowflake is unique! Some are star-shaped, while others may be more rounded. No two snowflakes are exactly alike. Scientists have discovered that snowflakes have six sides.

When snow falls in winter, we can build a snowman, play snowball fights with our loved ones, or have fun sledding.
While doing all these activities, we must not forget that we can get cold in low temperatures. That is why we must dress warmly!
