Miniature Amasya Museum
The Miniature Amasya Museum is like stepping into a tiny world! This museum features a large-scale model that depicts Amasya city as it appeared a century ago. Model means a scaled-down replica of something. When you enter the museum, you will see, in the center of a large room, Amasya’s 1914 architecture, its people, its river, and its mountains all rendered in miniature. This model was created to help visitors understand how life in the city unfolded during that period.

🏗️ How Was It Built?
The Miniature Amasya Museum was inspired by an old photograph taken in 1914. Construction began in 2008 and after two years of work, it opened to the public in 2010. The model is designed at a 1/150 scale, meaning each building is reduced to one one-hundred-fiftieth of its actual size.
The model contains exactly 1,860 architectural structures, human figures, animals, and vehicles. Even Harşena Mountain, where Amasya Castle stands, was scanned using specialized machinery to ensure an accurate miniature reproduction. Buildings and other structures were constructed using composite material (a strong material made by combining different substances) and 3D printers.

🌙 Day and Night Views
One of the museum’s most striking features is its ability to recreate both daytime and nighttime scenes. As the lights on the model flicker on and off, a simulation of 2,300 stars brings Amasya’s night skyline to life. Accompanied by gentle music, the presentations also reproduce the sounds of city life from a hundred years ago.
