Who is Selim İleri?
Selim İleri is a writer born on April 30, 1949, in the Kadıköy district of Istanbul.
From a young age, he loved books and decided to become a writer as he grew older.
Starting with short stories, Selim İleri later wrote novels, screenplays, plays, and essays.

Education and Youth Years
Selim İleri first attended Galatasaray High School, then transferred to Atatürk Boys’ High School, where he developed an interest in literature.

He began studying law at Istanbul University but left before completing his degree to pursue a career in writing.

At the age of 19, Selim İleri wrote his first book, Cumartesi Yalnızlığı.
This book drew attention and established him in the literary world.
He later won a major award for his book Dostlukların Son Günü.


His screenplay Kırık Bir Aşk Hikâyesi won the award for Best Screenplay.
He has also written plays and received numerous awards.
In 2012, he was awarded the Presidency of Türkiye Culture and Arts Grand Prize.
