KÜRE ENCYCLOPEDIA PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, store, and protect personal data about users of the ‘“KÜRE ENCYCLOPEDIA”’ website, developed by the TÜRKİYE TECHNOLOGY TEAM FOUNDATION (T3 Foundation) and the KÜLTÜR AND CIVILIZATION FOUNDATION (KÜME Foundation), and informs users of their rights. Reading the privacy policy will help you use KÜRE ENCYCLOPEDIA correctly.
KÜRE ENCYCLOPEDIA serves both individuals aged 18 and over and children under 18 with parental consent. Registration for individuals under 18 is only possible with the express consent of their legal guardian (parent or guardian) and the child’s consent. Registration for individuals under 18 is not permitted in our system without the necessary legal permissions and express consent during the registration process. If a user is determined to be under 18 and has registered without valid parental consent, the use of the relevant account will be immediately terminated, personal data will be deleted, and legal authorities will be notified when necessary. Parents can monitor their children’s activities on the app and exercise their rights, such as account management, data access, or correction, at any time.

Platform visitors do not need to log in to view some content on KÜRE ENCYCLOPEDIA. They may also find KÜRE ENCYCLOPEDIA content on KÜRE ENCYCLOPEDIA: for example, from search query results on internet search engines or from content downloaded and re-shared elsewhere (depending on your settings).
With Other KÜRE ENCYCLOPEDIA Users
Depending on your settings and the KÜRE ENCYCLOPEDIA services you use, we share:

  • Information voluntarily added to a user’s profile (bio, social media links, etc.) can be viewed as long as the user makes it public.

10. Storage Period
We retain different types of information for different and necessary periods of time, depending on how long we need to keep it to provide you with our services, comply with our legal requirements, and for security and safety reasons.   • IP address and session logs are retained for up to 1 year in accordance with Law No. 5651.
  • We retain cookies and information collected from cookies for up to 13 months.
  • Information about ad views, interactions, and interactions with content on third-party sites is retained for up to 12 months.
  • Information received from advertising and business partners is also retained for up to 12 months.
  • Contact and complaint requests are retained for between 1 and 5 years, depending on the nature of the request.
  • We may retain certain identifiers indefinitely to prevent users who violate our rules from opening new accounts.
  • We may need to keep some information for longer periods due to legal requirements, security, fraud, and technical reasons.
Furthermore, even when general content is removed from KÜRE ENCYCLOPEDIA, it may still be available elsewhere. For example, search engines or other users may retain copies of this content for longer periods of time in accordance with their own policies.
Data whose retention period has expired is deleted, destroyed, or anonymized. These processes are carried out in accordance with Article 7 of the Personal Data Protection Law and the Regulation on the Deletion, Destruction, or Anonymization of Personal Data. Data from accounts deleted at the user’s request is also destroyed immediately, except for legal obligations.

11. Your Rights and Options
Your rights as a data owner in accordance with KVKK and related legislation are as follows:
  • To learn whether your personal data has been processed
  • To request information if your personal data has been processed
  • To learn the purpose of processing personal data and whether it is being used in accordance with its intended purpose
  • To know the third parties to whom personal data has been transferred, both domestically and internationally
  • To request correction of personal data if it has been processed incompletely or incorrectly
  • To request the deletion or destruction of personal data under the conditions stipulated in the Personal Data Protection Law
  • To request notification of correction, deletion, or destruction to third parties to whom personal data has been transferred
  • To object to the analysis of processed data exclusively through automated systems, leading to a detrimental outcome
  • To request compensation for damages suffered due to unlawful processing of personal data

Withdrawal of Consent:
You have the right to withdraw your explicit consent to data processing activities at any time. If you wish to withdraw your consent, you can contact us using any of the following methods:

  • By applying in writing to our Data Controller address
  • By applying online through the Data Subject Application Form on our website
Consent withdrawal requests submitted to us will be processed within the legal timeframes after identity verification is provided. Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of data processing activities conducted prior to this process. If you withdraw your consent, we will cease the relevant data processing activities and delete or anonymize this data as soon as possible.

12. Intellectual Property Rights
All software, code, designs, graphics, logos, data structures, and content associated with the KÜRE ENCYCLOPEDIA platform are protected under Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works and related legislation and are owned by or licensed to the TÜRKİYE TECHNOLOGY TEAM FOUNDATION.
User-generated content (text, images, videos, etc.) belongs to the user. Upon uploading such content, the user grants the platform a worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free, perpetual, and sublicensable right of use. This right is limited to the platform’s provision, operation, development, promotion, security, and service development purposes.
The T3 FOUNDATION does not guarantee that content uploaded to the platform does not infringe the rights of third parties. However, reported violations are evaluated, and if necessary, the content is removed or access is blocked. If a violation is detected, the user’s account may be suspended or closed.
This license does not cover the commercial resale or marketing of content to unaffiliated third parties. Users may remove their content from publication at any time by deleting their account; however, any actions taken prior to this deletion (for example, if used in advertising images) remain valid.

This updated notice is binding on all users and is deemed accepted by users who continue to use the service.

If we make changes to this Privacy Policy that are material to us, we will notify you via in-app notification or email and provide you with an opportunity to review the revised Privacy Policy before you continue using KÜRE ENCYCLOPEDIA.
