Israel’s Two-Year Offensive Has Left 67,000 Dead in the Gaza Strip

Since October 8, 2023, Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip have killed more than 67,000 Palestinians and injured nearly 170,000 others. About 90% of Gaza has been destroyed, and the region’s healthcare, education, and infrastructure systems have collapsed. Among the dead are 193 scientists, 254 journalists, 894 athletes, and more than 250 religious figures. The damage—estimated to exceed 70 billion dollars—has devastated Gaza’s social fabric and cultural heritage.

First People’s Assembly Elections Held in Syria Following the Fall of the Assad Regime

For the first time since the fall of the Assad regime, free elections were held in Syria. Out of 210 parliamentary seats, 127 members were elected, while elections could not be held for 13 seats in regions controlled by the SDF/YPG and Druze groups. The remaining 70 members are to be appointed by President al-Shara.

Russia Launches 12-Hour Nonstop Airstrikes on Ukraine

On September 28, 2025, Russia carried out 12 hours of continuous air raids against Ukraine, using around 600 drones and more than 40 missiles. Seven regions, including Kyiv, were targeted. At least four people were killed and over 70 injured.
