The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards was held on September 14, 2025, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California. The ceremony was broadcast live on the CBS Television Network and also streamed on Paramount+. Comedian Nate Bargatze served as host.
The production was overseen by Jesse Collins Entertainment, with Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay as executive producers. The awards recognized television programs and individual achievements from the 2024–2025 season. A total of 26 awards were presented during the live telecast. In addition, 97 Creative Arts Emmy Awards were announced earlier, at separate ceremonies held on September 6–7, 2025.
The 77th Emmy Awards reached approximately 7.4 million viewers across CBS and Paramount+. This marked an 8% increase compared with the previous year’s ceremony on ABC, which drew about 6.9 million viewers. The 2025 broadcast was the most-watched Emmy Awards ceremony in four years.

Drama Series
The award for Outstanding Drama Series went to The Pitt (HBO | Max). Lead actor Noah Wyle received the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series trophy for his role in the show, while Katherine LaNasa won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in the same production.
Comedy Series
The Outstanding Comedy Series award was presented to The Studio (Apple TV+). Seth Rogen, the show’s star, earned the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series prize. Jean Smart won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Hacks, and her co-star Hannah Einbinder received the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series award. Jeff Hiller was honored with Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in Somebody Somewhere.
Limited or Anthology Series
The Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series award went to Adolescence (Netflix). Stephen Graham won Outstanding Lead Actor in this category for his performance. Cristin Milioti earned Outstanding Lead Actress for her role in The Penguin. Adolescence also secured wins for Owen Cooper (Outstanding Supporting Actor), Erin Doherty (Outstanding Supporting Actress), Philip Barantini (Outstanding Directing), and writers Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham (Outstanding Writing).
Other Categories
The award for Outstanding Reality Competition Program went to The Traitors (Peacock). The Late Show with Stephen Colbert won Outstanding Talk Series, while Last Week Tonight with John Oliver received the award for Outstanding Scripted Variety Series. The Outstanding Variety Special (Live) award was presented to SNL50: The Anniversary Special.

Several productions stood out for receiving multiple awards at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. The Studio (Apple TV+) led with a total of 13 wins, setting a record as the most-awarded comedy series in a single season. The Penguin (HBO | Max) followed with 9 awards. Adolescence (Netflix), Severance (Apple TV+), and SNL50: The Anniversary Special (NBC) each won 8 awards.
Andor (Disney+) and The Pitt (HBO | Max) both earned 5 awards, alongside The Traitors (Peacock), which also collected 5. Arcane and Love, Death + Robots received 4 awards each, while The Boys, Bridgerton, Hacks, Pee-Wee As Himself, and Saturday Night Live all took home 3 awards.

Musical performances were part of the evening. Vince Gill and Lainey Wilson performed “Go Rest High on That Mountain” during the In Memoriam segment. In addition, Karen Fairchild, Reba McEntire, and Kimberly Schlapman gave a special performance of The Golden Girls theme song, “Thank You for Being a Friend.”
Social Messages from Artists
Some artists used the Emmy stage to share social messages. Hannah Einbinder called for “Freedom for Palestine” during her acceptance speech.
Academy Award–winning Spanish actor Javier Bardem attended the ceremony wearing a keffiyeh, a symbol of the Palestinian struggle. He publicly expressed his opposition to Israel’s actions in Gaza and stated that he would not take part in any production that supports or legitimizes those actions.
American comedian Megan Stalter appeared at the ceremony carrying a handbag with the word “Ceasefire” printed on it. She emphasized the importance of peace and said she would not remain silent in the face of global conflicts.
