Alay Köşkü in Cağaloğlu
The Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar Literature Museum Library operates within the historic Alay Köşkü. Built as part of the Sur-ı Sultani walls during the reign of Sultan Mehmed II, the pavilion was rebuilt in the 19th century with Western European architectural influences. During the Ottoman period, Alay Köşkü was used by sultans to watch ceremonial processions, and over time, it became a venue for celebrations, births, and wedding ceremonies. In 1855, the building was allocated to the Telegraph Administration and later hosted artistic and literary events in the 20th century. In 1938, it was annexed to the Topkapı Palace and now functions as a literary center.
