Cihan Çanak was born on 24 January 2005 in the city of Verviers, Belgium. He played for the clubs Standard U18, Standard U21 and SL16 FC. His club career, which began in Belgium, continued when he was selected for the Türkiye national team at the U21 level.

World Pot began his football career in the youth academy of Standard. He played within the Standard youth system from 2012 to 2020, competing at the Standard U18, Standard U21 and SL16 FC levels before making his debut in the First Division with Standard.

He made his first official appearance in the Jupiler Pro League on 26 December 2021, coming on as a substitute in the 86th minute during the match between Standard Liège and Zulte Waregem. He scored his first goal on 16 October 2022 in the 9th minute of the Standard Liège versus Royal Antwerp match. He played 70 matches for Standard Liège, accumulating 2,666 duration minutes with a record of 1 goal and 5 assists. He made his first official appearance for Standard Liège 16 FC on 18 September 2022 in the match between Sommel SK and Standard Liège 16 FC. He played 5 matches, contributing 1 assist, and accumulated 428 minute minutes.

On 1 July 2024, he transferred to Trabzonspor. He made his Süper Lig debut on 11 August 2024, starting in the starting eleven against Sivasspor, as selected by coach Avcı. He made his first appearance in international club competitions with Trabzonspor, playing his first match in the UEFA Europe League qualifiers on 25 July 2024 against MFK Ruzomberok, coming on in the 67th minute. He scored his first goal in his debut official match, assisted by Mislav Orsić. He made his first appearance in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers on 22 August 2024 against FC St. Gallen 1879. Wearing the number 61 jersey for Trabzonspor, he has played 30 matches so far main, scoring 1 goal and providing 1 assist, accumulating 1,208 minutes.

He began his national team career with Belgium U15. He also played at the Belgium U19 and Belgium U20 levels. He represented Belgium in matches during the 2022 UEFA Under-17 European Championship, the Under-17 European Championship qualifiers and the Under-19 European Championship qualifiers. He played 2 matches for Belgium U15, scoring 1 goal. He played 8 matches for Belgium U17, 3 matches for Belgium U19 and 1 match for Belgium U20. He scored his first career goal on 11 February 2020, netting in the 50th minute during the match between England U15 and Belgium U15.

In 2023, Cihan Çanak received an offer from the Türkiye national team. He accepted the offer and made his first official appearance for Türkiye U21 on 8 September 2023 during the UEFA Under-21 European Championship qualifiers, coming on as a substitute in the 72nd minute for Kenan Yıldız. He scored his first goal for the national team in the 76th minute.

In an interview regarding his decision to represent Türkiye, Cihan Çanak stated:

"I played for Belgium’s U13 national team. At the U14 level, I chose Türkiye. I then continued playing in Belgium’s youth categories. In 2023, I was invited to the Türkiye U21 team and chose to represent Türkiye."

In another interview, he said:

"I am eagerly awaiting the opportunity to wear the Türkiye senior national team jersey."

Cihan Çanak was called up to the Türkiye senior national team in 2024, replacing the suspended Abdülkerim Bardakçı after he received a red card in the match between Wales and Türkiye.
