The KN-12 stands out as one of Türkiye's significant achievements in the defense industry. Developed by Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi A.Ş. (MKE), this rifle has been incorporated into the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK). Thanks to its multi-caliber structure, the KN-12 can adapt to various operational needs, offering high precision and modularity.

KN-12 (MKE)
One of the most striking features of the KN-12 is its ability to allow users to quickly and easily change calibers in the field. By replacing the barrel, bolt assembly, and magazine, the user can switch between 7.62 mm and 8.59 mm calibers. This feature offers a major advantage in adapting to different mission profiles and environmental conditions.
The KN-12 has successfully passed NATO standard compliance tests and has been included in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK). MKE has also initiated domestic production of 8.59 mm caliber ammunition at the Gazi Ammunition Factory in Ankara. This step is considered a significant advancement in Türkiye’s efforts to reduce foreign dependency in the defense industry.
