Saw 4 is a 2007 horror, thriller, and crime film directed by Darren Lynn Bousman. The film centers on the continuation of Jigsaw’s deadly games even after his death, as detectives struggle to unravel the complex legacy he left behind.

Plot

Following the end of Saw 3, after the serial killer Jigsaw is killed, Detective Hoffman and the forensic team discover a hidden cassette hidden on his body during the autopsy. The cassette reveals that Jigsaw’s games continued after his death, leaving behind additional victims and intricate schemes. Detective Mark Hoffman realizes he is Jigsaw’s secret protégé, continuing his legacy.

Meanwhile, SWAT commander Daniel Rigg is drawn into one of Jigsaw’s final games. Rigg must race against time to rescue Detective Eric Mathews and Agent Kerry, individuals previously connected to Jigsaw’s cases. However, to complete this game, Rigg must break his own moral code and make brutal choices that cost lives. As the film uncovers new secrets about Jigsaw’s past connections and relationships with his victims, it also provides clues about how he became who he was.
