Plot

Following the defeat of Thanos and the death of Tony Stark, Peter Parker attempts to adjust to civilian life. Traveling to Europe for a two-week summer trip with his classmates MJ, Ned, Betty, and Flash, Peter plans to take a break from his superhero duties and confess his feelings to MJ. However, his plans are disrupted by attacks from monstrous entities known as the Elementals, which are composed of fundamental elements—earth, water, fire, and air. Peter contacts Nick Fury and meets Quentin Beck (Mysterio), who claims to be from another universe (Earth-833). Fury entrusts Peter with E.D.I.T.H., an AI-equipped tactical glasses system left to him by Stark Industries. Peter, believing Beck worthy of the responsibility, hands over control of the glasses and the mission to save the world to him.

It is later revealed that Quentin Beck never came from another dimension; he is a former holographic illusion specialist fired by Stark Industries. Using advanced projection drones, Beck fabricates fake Elementals attacks and positions himself as a hero. After discovering a drone fragment belonging to Beck, Peter learns the truth and attempts to warn Nick Fury in Berlin, only to become trapped in Beck’s illusions. Escaping the illusions and awakening in the Netherlands, Peter, with the help of Happy Hogan, designs a new suit and travels to London to stop Beck’s large-scale fake Elementals assault. In London, Peter seizes control of the drones, overcomes the illusions, and defeats Mysterio. Beck is killed by an accidental drone shot. During the mid-credits scene, J. Jonah Jameson releases a fabricated video by Beck that exposes Spider-Man’s true identity to the world and portrays him as responsible for the attacks. In the post-credits scene, it is revealed that Nick Fury and Maria Hill are actually Skrull operatives Talos and Soren in disguise, and the real Nick Fury is aboard a spaceship.
