Sülüklü Han, built in 1683 by Hanilioğlu Mahmut Çelebi and his sister Atike, is a historic caravanserai. Following restoration work completed in 2010, the caravanserai was opened to the public and is now among the popular destinations known as Hasan Paşa Hanı.
One of the building’s notable features is the ancient well within its premises. According to historical records, physicians used to extract leeches from this well for therapeutic purposes. The collection of leeches here is the primary reason the caravanserai came to be known as Sülüklü Han.
Structurally, the upper floors were arranged as resting rooms, while the storage areas on the ground floor were used as accommodation for animals. During the War of Independence, Sülüklü Han played a role as a headquarters for allied units. Today, Sülüklü Han continues to welcome visitors with its historical character, serving as an open tourist site and cultural venue.
