2025–26 Season Türkiye Sigorta Basketball League Draw Schedule

The draw for the 2025–2026 season of the Türkiye Sigorta Basketball Super League was held on 20 August 2025 at the Basketball Development Center in Istanbul. The ceremony was attended by officials and board members of the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF), club presidents managers and representatives. The new season’s schedule and matchups were officially announced through a live broadcast by beIN SPORTS News.

Following the draw both TBF officials and club representatives made statements regarding the new season with congratulations extended to the newly promoted teams Trabzonspor and Esenler Erokspor. Additionally best wishes were conveyed to the clubs representing Türkiye in European competitions.

Season Schedule and Format

The new season will commence on 26 September 2025 and the regular season will span 30 weeks concluding on 11 May 2026. The playoff stages will begin after May and are expected to last until at least 24 June 2026.

Changes have been made to the season format. The play-in system implemented last season has been abolished. As a result the top eight teams at the end of the regular season will qualify directly for the quarterfinals. Quarterfinal series will be played as best-of-two series. In the semifinals and finals a best-of-five format with three wins required will be applied. This adjustment replaces last season’s best-of-seven final series with a best-of-five format this season. The two teams finishing in the last two positions will be relegated to the lower league.

New Teams

One of the most notable developments of the season is the addition of two new teams. Trabzonspor which won the 2024–2025 Turkish Basketball League title and Esenler Erokspor which won the play-off championship have earned promotion to the Türkiye Sigorta Basketball Super League this year.

Trabzonspor will host Onvo Büyükçekmece Basketbol in their opening week of the Super League. The club was represented at the draw by board member Gözde Atasoy and Sports Director Cömert Küce. Atasoy stated that promotion to the Super League has generated great pride and excitement and that Trabzonspor will bring new color to the league with ambitions for European competition.

Esenler Erokspor will face Anadolu Efes in their first match. The club’s General Manager Aycan Şarlı attended the draw and extended best wishes to all teams.

Club Representatives’ Statements

Following the draw several club representatives offered assessments of the upcoming season:

• Beşiktaş GAİN Administrative Manager Murat Mürtezaoğlu highlighted the team’s rising performance over the past two years and stated that the new format is a positive step. He also emphasized the high level of interest among Beşiktaş fans in basketball.

• Trabzonspor Board Member Gözde Atasoy recalled celebrating their championship win in Bodrum with great enthusiasm affirmed that the club deserves its place in the Super League and pledged to deliver an exciting team for spectators. She also outlined ambitions for European competitions.

• Fenerbahçe Beko Team Manager Cenk Renda wished for a season free of injuries and stated that the club is entering the competition with the goal of winning every title. He reminded everyone that Fenerbahçe Beko will face Beşiktaş GAİN in the Presidential Cup and expressed confidence in winning that trophy.

• Galatasaray MCT Technic General Manager Ömer Yalçınkaya explained that the club has assembled a new roster with the objectives of winning the Basketball Champions League and reaching the finals in the Turkish League.

• Anadolu Efes Sports Director İsmail Şenol emphasized that the club is entering its 50th season highlighted the increasing pace of games in the EuroLeague and noted that roster planning has been adjusted accordingly.

• Aliağa Petkimspor General Manager Levent Türknas stated that the club has built an ambitious roster and aims to achieve success in Europe as well.

• TOFAŞ General Manager Tolga Öngören announced that the club has prepared a new roster and technical staff for both the Super League and the Basketball Champions League.

• Manisa Basket General Manager Özgür Önver stated that the club aims to build on the successes achieved last season.

• Bursaspor Basketbol President Sezer Sezgin declared that this will be the most high-quality season in the last five years.

• Mersinspor Vice President Doğukan Sönmez stated that the club has invested in its youth system and established a basketball academy with 30 rooms and three courts.

• Türk Telekom General Manager Önder Külçebaş emphasized that the club has assembled a new roster highlighted that foreign players are familiar with the league and affirmed that the team is competitive both in Europe and domestically.

• Yukatel Merkezefendi Belediyesi Basket General Manager Evren Yenice wished for a season free of injuries.

Federation’s Assessments

During the draw TBF Board Member Dr. Yılmaz Argüden welcomed the entry of Trabzonspor and Esenler Erokspor into the league and extended best wishes to the clubs representing Türkiye in European competitions. He also expressed the hope for a season free of injuries with strong fair play spirit and high entertainment value for spectators.

TBF Sports Director Alper Yılmaz congratulated Fenerbahçe Beko the 2024–2025 league champions Trabzonspor the Turkish Basketball League champions and Esenler Erokspor the play-off champions. He also expressed satisfaction that the new season will begin with 16 teams playing in 13 arenas across eight cities. He extended best wishes to the teams representing Türkiye in European competitions.
