Plot
The film centers on the experiences of a boy named Adem, who has just finished fifth grade and doesn't want to be idle during the summer holidays. Adem, with permission from his family, starts working for Cibar Kemal, the soda vendor. With the arrival of Ramadan, Adem, influenced by sermons he hears at the mosque, decides to fast. However, his family objects due to his young age. Adem, however, secretly puts this decision into practice. Fasting while working in the scorching heat of the Aegean begins to challenge Adem physically and mentally. The thirst and hunger he experiences distort his perception of reality; he gradually starts seeing mirages.
