Plot

The film chronicles the life of Richard Montañez, a Mexican-American man who begins working as a janitor at a Frito-Lay factory in California. Over time, he notices inefficiencies in the company’s production processes and works to improve himself by studying them. Inspired by a motivational message from CEO Roger Enrico, who encouraged all employees to "think like owners" during a period of economic hardship, Montañez develops a new idea.

Drawing from his Mexican cultural heritage, he conceives a spicy snack targeting the Latino market. With the support of his wife Judy, he conducts experiments at home and creates a flavor he names "Flamin' Hot." Montañez attempts to overcome corporate hierarchy barriers to present his idea to company leadership, encountering numerous challenges along the way.
