Azerin is an Azerbaijani singer and People’s Artist of Azerbaijan. She is known for her multilingual repertoire, international stage experience, and works centered on the Turkic world.
Azerin was born in Baku. At the age of five, she began performing children’s songs as a soloist on Azerbaijan State Television and Radio. At nine, she became a soloist with the internationally renowned Jiggle Dance and Music Ensemble, and at fifteen, she joined the Violet Choir of Azerbaijan State Television and Radio as a soloist. She graduated from the Vocal Department of the Azerbaijan State Conservatoire.
Azerin can sing in many languages, including Italian, Spanish, Russian, French, English, Uzbek, Kyrgyz, Kazakh, and several Balkan languages. Since 1990, she has performed in programs, festivals, and concerts in numerous countries and has reached wide audiences through television programs. Since 2009, she has produced and presented programs on TRT Avaz and TRT Müzik channels.
Her first album, released in Türkiye in 2015, is titled Yüreklerde Biriz. The album includes Mehmed Âkif Ersoy’s “Ordunun Duası” (Soldier’s Prayer), “Çırpınırdın Karadeniz” with lyrics by Ahmed Cavad and music by Üzeyir Hacıbeyli, “Çanakkale Geçilmez” which commemorates the Çanakkale Victory, Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu’s poem “Üşüyorum,” and Azerbaijani folk songs “Küçelere Su Serpmişem,” “Canım Menim,” “Bizim Dünya,” and “Payız Nefesi.” The piece “Çırpınırdın Karadeniz” has achieved high view and listen counts on YouTube and other digital platforms.
Çırpınırdın Karadeniz - Azerin (TRT Avaz)
Azerin does not regard “Çırpınırdın Karadeniz” as an ordinary song but as a historical work. She emphasizes that the piece was inspired by the Caucasian Islamic Army and composed as an expression of gratitude to Türkiye. The artist states that she grew up with this piece and identifies deeply with it, highlighting that it has become a shared masterpiece uniting Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
With her composition “Onbeş Temmuz Gecesi,” she participated in various programs related to the events of July 15 and gained coverage in the national press. “Asker Duası” has been performed to provide moral support to Azerbaijani soldiers stationed along the border regions with Türkiye and in overseas operations.
In addition to music, Azerin has acting experience and appeared in an episode of the Turkish series Savaşçı.
In 2006, she was honored with the title “People’s Artist of Azerbaijan” by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
