Barış Alper Yılmaz was born on May 23, 2000, in Rize. He started playing football with Rize Özel İdare Spor and obtained his license at this club. In 2017, he made his first professional transition with Ankara Demirspor. In 2021, he transferred to Galatasaray A.Ş. and is currently continuing his career at Galatasaray.
Career
Barış Alper Yılmaz began his football career in Rize, spending his youth years at Rize Özel İdare Spor from 2011 to 2017. In 2017, he took his first step into professional football with Ankara Demirspor. On July 10, 2021, he signed a contract with Galatasaray. He made his Süper Lig debut on August 23, 2021, in the match between Galatasaray and Hatayspor. He also played in the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Champions League for the first time with Galatasaray. He made his national team debut with the U21 squad on March 26, 2021. With the senior national team, he played in the Türkiye - Gibraltar match on November 13, 2021. In his Süper Lig career, he scored his first goal in the 86th minute of the Galatasaray - Kayserispor match in 2022. While his primary position is left winger, Barış Alper Yılmaz can also play as a right winger and center forward.
National Team Career
In March 2021, he was called up to the squad by the then U21 National Team head coach, Tolunay Kafkas. His national team career began in the U21 category with his first match in the Croatia - Türkiye game. He entered the match in the 46th minute and made a spectacular start by scoring his first goal in the 84th minute. He made his debut for the senior national team in the Türkiye - Gibraltar match, played as part of the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers. After winning the league title with Galatasaray in 2024, he represented the national team in the European Championship. He scored his first goal for the senior national team on October 12, 2023, in the UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers match against Croatia.

He is currently continuing his career in the National Team and Galatasaray with the number 53 jersey.
