Baykar National Technology Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School

Baykar National Technology Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School is a secondary education institution established in the Başakşehir district of Istanbul within the framework of Türkiye’s technology-focused vocational education policies. School, it began operations on 31 March 2023 in accordance with the Vocational Education Cooperation Protocol signed between the Ministry of National Education and Baykar Technology. This protocol reflects a strategic partnership between the private sector and public education institutions.

Baykar MTAL was established to address Türkiye’s need for qualified human resources in the defense industry and to integrate vocational education at the high school level with strategic sectors. The school’s goal is to develop individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to support national and indigenous production in defense technologies.

The school delivers education under the Anatolian Technical Program, providing students with an intensive curriculum focused on technical disciplines over four years. Prior to this, students complete a one-year preparatory class in English. During the preparatory year, 24 weekly hours of English instruction are provided to establish a strong foundation in professional language proficiency.

Two main fields of education are offered:

1. Information Technology Field: Students receive theoretical and practical knowledge in basic and advanced software development, data structures, algorithmic logic, and network systems.
2. Aerospace and Space Technology Field: Technical training is provided in areas such as unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technologies, aerodynamics, electronic systems, and flight mechanics.

The number of students enrolled at Baykar MTAL is limited. The total capacity is capped at 80 students, distributed across four separate classes. Each class accommodates 20 students, enabling an education model based on low student-to-teacher ratios to support individual development.

The school’s vision is to cultivate individuals who will drive Türkiye’s National Technology Initiative. Its mission is to contribute to Türkiye’s goals of independence in aerospace and space industries by developing individuals with strong technical infrastructure and grounded in national and spiritual values.

Baykar MTAL aims to equip students with professional competencies through applied learning under a revolving capital model. Simultaneously, the school prioritizes the development of intellectual property and research and development activities. In line with this approach:

• The learning-by-doing model is implemented.
• Revenue generated from production is shared as incentives with students and teachers.
• Patents, utility models, designs, and trademarks developed in vocational high schools are supported.

The school does not focus solely on academic achievement but also promotes activities that support students’ social and cultural development. As seen in content shared on official social media accounts, internal competitions, technical field trips, seminars, and project presentations are organized within this framework. Students engage in group work and individual projects in areas such as design, coding, modeling, and application like.
