Black Beret (Series)

Siyah Bere is a Turkish web series in the action, drama, and war genres, released on TRT’s digital platform Tabii on May 15, 2025. The series centers on the story of a four-member Turkish tank crew assigned to a special mission during the "Cesur Sancak Operasyonu."

Plot

The series follows a tank crew cut off from friendly forces after the bridge they were meant to cross is destroyed, forcing them to fight for survival under limited resources. The narrative highlights themes of heroism, faith, and patriotism.

Production

Produced by CNP Film, the series is directed by Yağız Alp Akaydın and Barış Erdoğan, who also wrote the screenplay. The production, marketed as "the world’s first tank series," was filmed at the 2nd Armored Brigade Command in İslahiye, Gaziantep. During filming, 40 M60T tanks from the Turkish Armed Forces inventory, two ATAK helicopters, and one Sikorsky helicopter were used. The series finale features the national tank Altay.

Cast

The lead roles are played by İlhan Şen as Tank Commander Volkan and Özge Gürel as Psychologist Nilgün. Other key cast members include Doğukan Polat, Erkan Sever, Saygın Soysal, and Seyit Nizam Yılmaz.
