An aviation accident occurred in the city of Belo Horizonte, located in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, when a small aircraft crashed into a building shortly after takeoff, resulting in fatalities and injuries. The incident occurred when the aircraft, which had taken off from Pampulha Airport, lost control within minutes and collided with a multi-story building in a residential area.

According to local sources, the aircraft lost altitude shortly after takeoff and struck the third floor of a building. Witness accounts and footage from security cameras indicated that the aircraft remained airborne for only a brief period before descending rapidly toward the residential zone. Following the crash, numerous ambulances, fire units, and search and rescue teams were dispatched to the area.

Initial assessments indicated that at least two people, including the pilot, died in the accident, while three others were transported to hospital with serious injuries. Subsequent reports confirmed that one of the injured later died in the hospital, while the other two remained under treatment. It was stated that there were five people on board the aircraft.

Authorities stated that the building struck by the aircraft did not suffer a significant risk of structural collapse and that no occupants of the building were injured. It was assessed that the aircraft’s impact with the building’s stairwell may have prevented a potentially greater loss of life.

Following the accident, emergency teams deployed to the site carried out evacuation and rescue operations for both the aircraft’s passengers and building occupants. Firefighters implemented safety measures to mitigate risks of fire and explosion, while medical personnel transported the injured to nearby hospitals.

In recent years, there has been a notable increase in the number of small-scale aviation accidents in Brazil. Official data shows that in 2025, 153 aviation accidents occurred in the country, resulting in the deaths of 62 people.
