BTK Academy

BTK Academy was established in 2017 under the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) with the leadership of Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan. The institution’s purpose is to provide inclusive and accessible educational services to develop a qualified workforce aligned with Türkiye’s digital transformation processes. BTK Academy not only enhances individuals’ digital literacy skills but also supports their specialization in areas such as software development, cybersecurity, and data analysis.

Corporate Structure and Educational Philosophy

BTK Academy offers a multifaceted digital education ecosystem through collaboration between the public and private sectors. Educational content is structured to serve a broad audience ranging from beginners entering the field of information technology to seasoned professionals. Training is delivered in two formats—online and in-person—allowing participants to acquire knowledge at their own pace and according to their individual needs. All courses are free of charge, and participants receive a certificate upon successful completion. These certificates help individuals document their competencies in the labor market and support their career advancement.

Educational Content and Programs

BTK Academy’s courses are organized under nine main categories: “Software World,” “Personal Development,” “Data Management,” “Cybersecurity,” “Infrastructure Management,” “IT Process Management,” and “K12 Education.” These categories encompass more than 315 course titles with a total content duration exceeding 160,000 minutes. Users can access these courses anytime via the BTK Academy online platform or mobile application. As of 2024, the platform has over two million registered users, with weekly views approaching 700,000 and approximately 10,000 new users joining each week.

Career Guidance and Development Models

To support individuals in systematically planning their career journeys, BTK Academy provides roadmaps under the title “Career Guide.” This guide consists of three key stages:

1. Introduction to Information Technology Program: This foundational program provides basic knowledge and serves as the starting point for all development pathways.
2. Development Programs: These offer specialized content in areas such as software development, data analysis, and cybersecurity.
3. Certification and Evaluation: Participants who successfully complete the programs earn a certificate.

Focused on skills in high demand in the job market, these programs facilitate the integration of graduates into the workforce and contribute to meeting the need for qualified human resources.

Volunteerism and Instructor Participation

BTK Academy has designed a system that not only provides education but also enables individuals to contribute as volunteers. Under the “Become a BTK Academy Volunteer” program, individuals can participate as instructors, in-person training assistants, or campus volunteers. Volunteers are expected to have expertise in their respective fields, mastery of innovative teaching methods, and a participant-centered approach. The application process includes form submission, preliminary evaluation, interviews, and inclusion of suitable candidates into the instructor pool.
