Buray Hoşsöz (b. June 15, 1984) is a musician, composer, and pop singer born in Nicosia, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). He completed his secondary education at Türk Maarif College. In 2005, he graduated from the Department of Music at Eastern Mediterranean University. Following his undergraduate studies, he earned a master’s degree in Music Production and Sound Engineering at the University of Glamorgan in the United Kingdom. During his education, he worked on classical and modern music techniques.
Music Career
Buray began his career in the TRNC, working as a guitarist and arranger for various artists. He also served as an orchestra conductor for several television programs. In 2004, he was a finalist in the Cyprus Eurovision selection with the group "United Boyband" and performed at the Royal Alexandra Palace in England. In 2008, he contributed to the breakthrough of the group Babutsa with the song "Yanayım," arranging and playing guitar for several tracks on their album.
While continuing his musical work in Australia, he started collaborating with songwriter Gözde Ançel. This collaboration led to the creation of songs for artists such as Ferhat Göçer, including the hit "Unutmuş Çoktan," as well as songs for Ömür Gedik and Selim Gülgören. During this period, he prepared his debut album "1 Şişe Aşk" at his studio in Melbourne, marking his entry into the Turkish music market.
As a solo performer, Buray participated in English-language projects such as the "Sensitive Vibrations" group and the "Acoustic Ceremony" project. He officially launched his solo career in Turkey in 2015 with the single "İstersen," which quickly climbed the music charts. He further increased his visibility in Turkey with the releases of "Sen Sevda mısın?" and "Kimsenin Suçu Yok" in the same year.
