Çambaşı Ski Resort is located in Çambaşı Plateau, within the borders of Kabadüz district of Ordu province, in Türkiye's Black Sea Region. It is approximately 54 kilometers from Ordu city center and approximately 58 kilometers from Kabadüz district. It is situated at an altitude of approximately 2,000 meters above sea level. This center, which is close to the Black Sea coast, is accessible via an asphalt road that is open 12 months a year.
Features of Çambaşı Plateau
Çambaşı Plateau is one of the largest plateaus in the Black Sea Region. Covering an area of approximately 100,000 decares, the plateau consists of 72 winter pastures. Located at an altitude of approximately 1,850-2,000 meters above sea level, this plateau boasts a rich diversity of flora and fauna. Basic infrastructure such as electricity, telephone, health center, and gendarmerie station are available in the region. A bazaar, market, restaurants, and picnic areas are located within the plateau, and the regional population significantly increases, especially in the summer months. There are several trout farming facilities on the plateau. In summer, many people from coastal settlements in the Black Sea migrate to the plateau to cool down and relax.
Establishment Process and Development of Facilities
The construction of Çambaşı Ski Resort began in 2010. The administrative building, service structures, social facilities, and cafeterias within the facility were completed and opened in 2017. The ski resort was projected and implemented with the aim of developing Ordu's winter tourism potential and transforming the region into a four-season tourism destination.
Facility Infrastructure and Technical Specifications
Çambaşı Ski Resort has two main ski slopes. The slopes are designed according to different difficulty levels and serve both beginners and experienced skiers. A cable car system is also available at the facilities. The plateau is among the regions in Türkiye that receive the most snow; in winter months, the snow depth reaches 3-4 meters. Winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, and sledding can be enjoyed, and the region also provides a professionally suitable environment for nature sports. As part of the accommodation infrastructure, there are modern hotels and bungalow-type accommodation units on the plateau.
