
Cedi Osman (born 8 April 1995 in Ohrid, North Macedonia) is a Turkish national basketball player. After playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers and San Antonio Spurs in the NBA, he returned to Europe and transferred to Panathinaikos of Greece. Osman is among the key players of the Türkiye Men’s National Basketball Team and is recognized throughout his career for his basketball intelligence team cohesion and on-court leadership.
Cedi Osman was born in the city of Ohrid in North Macedonia to a Turkish father and a Bosniak mother. He began playing basketball at a young age with KK Bosna and quickly attracted attention with his talent. In 2011 he acquired Turkish citizenship and moved to Türkiye where he continued his development in the Anadolu Efes youth system. He soon rose to the senior team and took his first steps into professional basketball.
In the 2024–2025 season Osman signed with Panathinaikos returning to the EuroLeague arena. He has assumed a significant role for the Greek club in both domestic league and European competitions.
Cedi Osman has risen to prominence not only through scoring but also through his contributions to team play. He assumed leadership responsibilities at a young age with Cleveland and has become a role model for young players in Türkiye. He has also actively participated in social responsibility initiatives as a UNICEF Türkiye Goodwill Ambassador.
As of 2024 Osman is competing at the EuroLeague level with Panathinaikos. He continues to be an active member of the national team and is expected to take on a role in athlete development and education after his playing career.
In 2022 Cedi Osman married basketball player Ebru Şahin. Outside of basketball he participates in charitable projects and supports educational initiatives for children and young athletes.
