Scream 3 (Scream 3) is a 2000 American horror and thriller film directed by Wes Craven. The film was written by Kevin Williamson and Ehren Krueger. It is the third installment in the Scream film series.

Years after the events of the first two films, Sidney Prescott leads an isolated life in Northern California. Meanwhile, murders begin during the filming of the third movie in the "Stab" series, which is based on Sidney’s story. A masked ghost killer systematically murders members of the film crew, leaving photographs of Sidney’s deceased mother, Maureen Prescott, at each crime scene. The murders uncover secrets from the past and shed new light on the mysteries surrounding Sidney’s mother. Sidney reunites with her former friends Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley to uncover the killer’s identity.
