The Defense Industry Academy (DIA) was established in 2017 under the Presidency of Defense Industry to contribute to the development of the skilled human resources needed by Türkiye’s defense industry ecosystem.

The Defense Industry Academy’s professional education design approach aims to identify the roles performed in relevant technology fields and to develop the competencies required for those roles. Accordingly, educational modules are tiered and content is revised according to target audiences.

Following the determination of educational curricula under the academy’s education policy, an inventory of education solution partners is created by drawing on a pool of qualified and expert instructors composed of higher education institutions and industry professionals. In this context, the selection of experts and institutions for inclusion in the inventory is not limited to the defense industry; it also includes subject-matter experts from other sectors and academics from within Türkiye or abroad.

The Defense Industry Academy issues certifications at various levels to document individual competencies acquired after defining role-based competencies, designing educational curricula to develop those competencies, delivering the training, and implementing appropriate measurement and evaluation mechanisms.

SSA develops professional education and development programs to enhance role-based competencies within the defense industry ecosystem, focusing its efforts primarily on two target groups. The first group consists of university students and graduates with up to two years of experience, collectively referred to as “Youth.” The Visionary Youth (VY) platform reaches out to young individuals who have not yet entered the defense industry or who have entered but lack sufficient experience.
