Denizli Bağbaşı Yaylası

Denizli Bağbaşı Yaylası; a settlement focused on nature tourism located within the boundaries of the Pamukkale district of Denizli province. Situated on Alparslan Street in Kervansaray Neighborhood, the plateau has an elevation of 1400 meters. The facility operates year-round and is used for alternative tourism activities such as nature, camping, and caravan tourism.

Bağbaşı Yaylası and its cable car system were designed by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality and officially opened to the public on 17 October 2015. In the first three years of operation, the facility recorded a total of two million visitors. During pandemic periods, the plateau was frequently chosen as an isolated area where social distancing could be maintained, thanks to its large surface area and physical layout.

Access to Bağbaşı Yaylası is provided through multiple alternatives including road transport and the cable car system. The cable car line, which begins at Bağbaşı City Forest, is 1500 meters long and consists of 24 cabins, each with a capacity of eight passengers. The journey from the city center to the plateau via cable car takes an average of 10 minutes.

The lower station of the cable car can be reached by road using private vehicles or public transportation. The lower station features a free parking area with a capacity of 300 vehicles. Public transportation options include Denizli Metropolitan Municipality’s bus line number 130 and minibuses operating on the Yeniyol route toward Gökpınar. The distance between the upper cable car station and the central settlement of Bağbaşı Zeytin Yaylası is 1700 meters.

Various physical units have been constructed at the plateau to meet visitors’ needs for accommodation, food, and social activities. A cafeteria is located at the upper cable car station, while further 1700 meters ahead, on the main plateau area, there are restaurants, cafeterias, and picnic zones. Accommodation infrastructure includes wooden bungalows, standard rooms, Yörük tents, and designated areas for camp tent setups.

Bağbaşı Yaylası also includes areas designed for nature sports and physical activities. Adjacent to the plateau, within a forested area, an adventure park has been established comprising 31 play elements and 32 platforms. This park offers sportive facilities such as climbing and jumping towers for visitor use.
